I found evidence this week that my wife doesn't keep them straight. She thought the Langster (red) was the Trek 610 I bought when I moved here. They all look alike after all!

Amazon will ship to a locker near your place if you have one near by. Ours is in a 7-11 about 4 blocks away. Great for small's. The other option is to ship to a UPS store if it is being shipped by UPS. Sometimes the $5 charge is worth the confrontation avoidence.

Do I have relationship issues on some topics with my wife? Duh, yeah! I am me and she is her so we have learned to work with it most of the time. After 42 years, that can happen.

I believe there is a mathematical proof floating around somewhere in this forum that states, with statistical certainty, that 4 is the minimum number before this phenomena occurs.

My wife never really questions what i buy anyway (so back off Fender1! ), but i've started something new over the past year or so. Every once in a while i sell something, get cash, and immediately hand it to my wife and tell her to do whatever she wants with it. I did that earlier this year with some vintage car part money and I did it with some old bike stuff money as well.

This isn't to say that my wife doesn't spend money otherwise, but I think it's a nice gesture and gives the impression that i'm "sharing the wealth" from selling stuff (even if i spend it most of it time ).

Come to think of it i've done this same thing with my son.

I use the same strategy. I "bought" a Cape May NJ family vacation with flip money. There were no questions about bike stuff after that.

I first read this as you bought a family in Cape May.

You read correctly. Flipped the old family and upgraded to a new, carbon fiber family.

Is it easier to flip a family if a zero bike is included?

Some things are just beyond my experience.

When house hunting in Portlandia a few years ago, I saw a nearly NOS PX-10 hanging upside down in the corner of a garage. Couldn't get the owner to throw it in with the house sale, so we passed.

The zero bike in Arkansas = rides AGAIN.
But without the tri bars.

The Gate to NoWhere.
And when in the middle of NoWhere you could use a little Faith (AR). True to it's name, faith is the only thing you can get in Faith - other than a few homes, the Pentecostal Church (sorry, no pic) is the only building. Tiny town USA.

Since we are talking Zero bikes,
Does a zero bike (only ridden a very few weeks a year) deserve the best new clinchers you've got? Or do they belong on a home-based wet weather bike, that similarly may not get more than 20 or so riding days per year? and no, i don't want to buy another set of clinchers.

I have non-cycling siblings and being retired when I visit for a couple of weeks or longer it's nice to have a rideable roadie. As i'm Seattle and each of them are east of the Mississippi, flying the home bikes seems silly.

A $100 purchase from the Little Rock co-op was a bargain.
Similarly, a $150 bike in Nashville has worked well for 2 decades.

Luckily, the brother and sister have large houses, under-utilized garages, and big hearts.

If I were to have a long stay with the brother in Chicago area, i'd just contact all the BF members there and try to bum a few rides. There are fewer BF members in Nashville and none in Pine Bluff, AR.

Nothing SAD about having bikes where a person vacations, IMHO.
I'm not hiding anything from anyone.

if not listed below, it's a ZERO bike.

I think that this is the branch of math that deals with imaginary numbers.

I think there is something magical about that 18 bikes number. Last year, when Mrs. ollo 1st saw my workshop she said "I can't believe you have 18 bikes!" (she mis-counted by a few) In the spirit of honesty, I quickly admitted there were a few more, but I don't count those that are in pieces. Since our marriage a year ago, I sold 2, but now have 2 zero bikes in Florida. Plus, I donated another 1 but also bought a few more. She still tells everyone that I have 18 bikes. Good enough for me. Don
