Interesting Fausto Coppi bike
Found this on Craigslist and it is a gorgeous bike. Seller doesn't seem to know too much about it, they mistakenly labeled it as a 12 speed though it's clearly not. Definitely interested in an appraisal. I think $825 is way too much or this bike but I am still interested in learning more about it! Any info would be appreciated. Since I am new here they wont allow me to post URL so my solution is I removed the h t t p s : / / and the
. h t m l at the end of the link, so insert those if you are interested.

Nice looking bike. Columbus Neuron is great tubing. Shimano 105 is not top of the line but good solid stuff. The handlebar stem is kind of goofy.

I found this on the web...
“The maker of Coppi, F.lli Masciaghi Bicycles, was started in 1967 in a garage. Some thirty years later, Maschiaghi has grown into a state-of-the-art facility outside Milan. As recently as 1997, they sold in excess of $45 million worth of bicycles. In 1990, Masciaghi teamed up with Giovanni Pellizzoli ,the founder of Ciocc, to develop the Fausto Coppi line of frames.”
As far as whether it is worth it, like anything, it is worth what someone is willing to pay for it. I wouldn't be a buyer at that price if the frame fit me, which this one wouldn't. I agree the current owner doesn't know much about it. It clearly doesn't have bullhorns. Perhaps they put a high number on it because they weren't sure and didn't want to to give it away too cheap?
Decide what you would pay for it and offer that.
