Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Same...hit some gnarly hills in LA. I think around Los Feliz or Echo Park there are a bunch of spots where they have these deep lines that run along the road (about 6" deep). A friend of mine ate "feces" when riding through there some time ago. Good times

So apparently they have a hill climbing contest annually on Fargo street.

This dude is one of the few who have made it to the top, but with a unicycle! amazing

I haven't rode up or down this but when I went to my buddy's place last summer in SF, I saw someone try and try to go up (without stopping his bike)!! It was intense.

That's lombard street. There are far steeper hills in sf. They even have steps along the sidewalk haha. Lombard is awesome though

Yeah "crooked" street. It's just crazy because you have to keep turning haha while going up!
