Campagnolo Ergopower Hood Nuances and Inconsistancies
Hi all,
I'm working on a set of Campagnolo Ergo shifters circa 2000 on a Veloce group. I needed new hoods and picked a set up off eBay. However, when I got them, I see an issue. They don't have a slice in them to accommodate for the thumb mounted down shifter to move. Instead, it's just a hole (see below for old hood vs new hood). Yet, some of the hoods that should fit (EC-RE600 and BR9865) show a slice to allow for the movement of the downshifter.
So, what's the deal? How can the same part have differences like this?
And since I'm looking for a hood with the slice, these seem to be worthless to me. Unless there is a way to add this from my end (which I cannot see how that is possible)?

Thank you for the face palm moment, yet clarity I needed. The seller was a little shifty by adding EC-RE600 in the title, which is what sold me.
