Thanks for that unselfish heads-up!

You're right about scarcity, I bought my last one several years ago on a similar small-batch auction, and hadn't seen any turn up since!

I have btw seen where a Bikeforums poster showed a nice conversion of the (aero) "Symmetric" shifter body with modified Shimano cable stops fitted, so there is also that way out when installing handlebar shifters of any sort on frames with brazed, aero post-mounted shifters, especially when you might need cable adjusters for at least the front derailer.

the seller might have more. first they listed 2 then the next day listed 3.
surprised they didn't raise the price after the first 2 got snatched up the first couple hours.

the symmetric conversion is a great option also and not too bad looking either.the aero cable stop looks really proper though.

Im really glad I ran into the listing. I had stopped looking for it. I picked up 2 for my self and felt I needed to share since I know the feeling of losing hope trying to find one.

Perhaps you could gut the Symmetric lever housing and simply run a thick alloy rod through it, with each end of the rod drilled/tapped for adjuster barrels(?).

Thanks for two good tips! I am familiar to both solutions. And also capable of doing them. But, I really, really want the original part.

I'm looking for one too. Except I'm looking for an aero cable stop, for an aero down tube (ie. the downtube is airfoil shaped):

A few years ago, I worked with a really nice guy from Australia whom I found through an Aussie forum, and he sent me a handful of custom cable stops that I sold here for cost + shipping, but I only have one left, which I am using. The thing is, it doesn't fit *exactly* over the shifter boss, so it needs to be shimmed to immobilize it. Otherwise, the indexing adjustment never stays put. He and I were going to work together and iterate to get it right, but, as it does, life got in the way. I just used an old set of Symmetric shifters to make my own custom cable stop following this thread's instructions: https://www.bikeforums.net/classic-v...-shifters.html, and it works great.

As for the original piece that Suntour sold -- I have never seen one for sale, and I have never seen one in person. It's made of unicorn and Yeti hair.
