Actually only tyres are new - rest (even chain and light bulbs)are original.
This was my last year present to my wife for Valentine's Day.
I Know it's not racing bike, but I like it so much. It rides very nice too.

This is not technically a "mixte".
Nor is/are they technically women/girls bikes.
Mixte literally translates to universal, they were originally a working bike for all, man, woman, butcher, baker, candlestick maker, etc, etc.
And as already said, very cool, nice bike, great job.

I call this style a mixte as well. A mixte with twin laterals and curved tubes for a lower step-through height. And that is because I cannot remember the name of the proper name for it. I got @Marziac chart pictured in my head but remembering the names of the different styles, I haven't been able to do.
Nice restoration, @Spellscape . Definitely worthy. I like this style with the low step over and the curvy twin laterals. I hope your wife loves it and appreciates the effort you put into it. It looks all original from the handlebars to the rack. Is that a Huret derailleur? I had never heard of Nordstar, however, that doesn't take anything away from the bike. There were lots of French bike brands in the '70's.
'70's French bikes are some of our favorites. And some of us really like mixte's. So, you are hitting the right audience.
That looks like the original generator and lights. French bike component makers were early adopters of plastic. Some things worked well in plastic, others needed more more development before plastic became acceptable, like derailleurs. It looks like you used speaker wire for the wiring. Good idea. Are you running a ground wire? It look like both wires are attached to the generator. If you are getting an intermittent or poor lighting, you could use one wire for the ground this way the electrons don't have to travel through the ball bearings in the headset to get to the light. If all works well, keep it as is.
Enjoy it. It is a beauty.

Starnord was classic bike boom company, they even made few models of early Eddy Merxx bikes budget versions as I know.
YEs it's Huret Eco , Atom freewheel and hubs.Sedis chain. All wires are original, but they are surely look like audio cables. All wiring also as is - but had to trim it little near front light.

I have become a mixte affectionado! Currently building one for my wife. She picked tge paint out the other day at the auto paint store!
I am intrigued with the twin laterals. With them being so low is this frame more "whippy"?
