Greensboro (-ish area) bike rental? Borrow? Sharing?
Hello folks of the Southeast!
I'm from Taiwan but I live in Greensboro for school. My folks have been very supportive in my bike-related endeavors (and really, all of my endeavors) and my Dad in particular is becoming very interested in cycling himself. In fact we we planning on going on a bike tour together next summer! He is one very cool Dad.
Anyway, they are coming to Greensboro to visit in February. I know that my Dad really really wants to go on a bike ride with me when he's here, but I can't figure out how to get him a bike to ride. I have looked everywhere I can but it seems like the nearest bike rental would be in Asheville. I also can't seem to find any bike sharing programs here. I ride a 46cm surly, and my Dad doesn't know his bike size, but he's 172 cm (5'8") with proportionally short leg, so I'm guessing 52-54. Does anyone have any ideas or know of obscure bike rental places? Or do you know if any of the big name bike shops (we have a performance, a cycle de oro, and a few local shops) that might do rentals? Should I buy an inexpensive bike off craigslist (54cm's are everywhere!) for my Dad's visit and sell it afterwards? It really means a lot to him.
Thanks!

Also contact some Specialized or Trek shops. Some of them have demo programs for the larger brands (i.e. $X / day to rent/demo a bike).
