I have just put some Marathon Plus 38s on a bike that I will use for some city streets commuting. Definitely hope they live up to their reputation. Thanks to folks in this thread for providing feedback on their experiences.
I have put maybe 15000 miles them with few flats. they really did well on the tandem. got 8000 miles on the front tire on my commuter.

Been using SMP 38s for about 3 years now on the mean streets of San Diego, Cali. Zero flats.
They are a little heavy so a little slowish, but roll just fine.
But if your number 1 priority is reliability (absolutely, positively, yes please) then they are the tire for you.
