Tool for 5 speed Maillard Freewheel
Need to remove this freewheel.
It"s a Maillard, made in France, 24 spline, looks like 30 mm diameter. Mounted on a SR hub.
Is the CT-3 the tool? Some say FR4 for Maillad, It's only 20 splines from what I can tell.
Is there another tool that will work like one with 4 or 6 splines etc? Any DIY tricks to remove without the tool?
I'm thinking the bike shop might be a better option than buying a one time use tool for 30+ dollars.
I don't need to save the freewheel. I'm replacing it with a single speed,

Probably more economical to have a shop remove it but here are some choices. mallaird 24 spline freewheel removal tool - Search (bing.com) Also this for removing without special tool.

Yeah. I saw that video too. I haven't been able to get the lockring loose.
EDIT: I got the lockring off. The inner hub part is being difficult. Going to take to work and I'm sure I'll get it off there. Bigger pipe wrench and bigger vise.

Search for a Normandy freewheel remover. If you don't expect to need it again, any shop that's been around for 20-30 years will have it and should remove the freewheel for a nominal charge.

Success!! I removed the inner part of the freewheel with a large set of vise gripes and a hammer.
Now awaiting the single speed freewhell to continue with my project.
