Shimano 105 Crank Removal..?

I have almost finished stripping my recently acquired Trek Alpha SL 2200, a wonderful bike dulled by lots of corrosion. The paint and art are not bad, but rust on some components and aluminum oxide causing bolts to seize in their alloy threaded holes. Took me two or three hours just to get the down tube shifters freed up. Anyway, I digress.

How does on remove these 105 cranks. My crank puller has nothing to press against thanks to the hollow spindle. Any advice would be much appreciated...

Put a fixing screw in the other end.
Stick a length of steel (the *right* length) in the axle.
Your puller will push against the end of the bit of steel, and the screw at the other end.

I believe you need the octalink style puller, with a wider tip. Park tool makes a puller with both tips included (square and octalink).

Thanks for the suggestion, however; it turns out that I managed to find out what I need, according to How To Remove an Older Shimano Hollowteck Crank. Tomorrow morning, I will find an appropriate size bolt, do some creative filing, sanding and polishing, and that's that...

With the above adaptor inserted, I can use my regular crank puller to yank the crank. Will get at it soon after sun up.

I had some cranks that looked like someone just bashed them with a hammer to get them loose. So there is always that option

Before I acquired the needed TL-FC16(?) tool adapter, I had removed a few Octalink cranks by fitting a pair of thick washers or coins in the hole and using one of my old pullers.

Got the arms off just fine but the proper adapter piece just makes the job easier.

Well, Micky M and I managed to get the old school hollowtech cranks off. Tried a few adaptors, but most did not work well. I then got a tapered crank bolt, rounded the corners off a wee bit, slipped it into place, installed my puller and off came the cranks. Lucky for me, the cartridge bottom bracket shows no slop and is buttery smooth.
