I owned a pair of those (NOS, C-Record). It was cool having either option, but boy were they awful. Looked so slick with those white hoods, but I started to have my doubts when routing the cables. My doubts were unfortunately and profoundly realized. They were awful. I even unwrapped the tape and tried again, thinking I must have done something wrong, but nope. They were just prettier than they were functional.

Maybe I'm just spoiled because I've been riding Shimano Dura Ace most of my life. Better leverage, Smoother actuation. Stone-simple to install and tune. About the same time Campagnolo was featuring this pretty jewelry, Shimano had just come out with SLR, which was a huge leap forward in brake feel.

Getting these NOS levers a few decades later was a history lesson.

Well, you're not replacing the levers, just the cable housing for some odd reason.

Tell me you didn't mess up that beautiful DeRosa.
If you did, better keep your hands on the bar and the lens on the road.
What setup works well for you on this bike currently?
I only ask because I'm a year older than last year.
Thanks.

Actually, I have ''messed up' the DeRosa. Cinelli bars (narrower by 3cm) and stem (shorter by 5mm) and colorful ribbon.
(editorial: = Why is it that every time I post a rolling picture without hands on handlebars, someone thinks I will crash? Doesn't everyone occasionally ride no-handed?)

edit: Orange cone? SBDR
@bironi - What works well? When I ride this bike - everything works well, in my mind's eye - just like last year, in my mind's eye.
