This bike is so clean; it's pretty and smoking hot.
You are getting me motivated to fix up my 1978 Trek TX 900. . . .

Love it. The Cyclone componentry with that Holdsworth retro-style crankset is perfect for the frame. Impressive that you've got a Cyclone GT shifting a pretty wide-range 8-speed cassette. Is it finicky at all?

not so far! one thing to note: the cassette is actually a 9 speed with the 11t removed to make an 8, so its running a 9 speed chain and the cogs are closer together which might make it easier on the GT to do the range.

Nice!
I like the way you're hanging on tight to that Brooks Pro saddle. Buddy of mine's wife had a Brooks B66 stolen in Berkeley. He's switched to theft proof bolts on his seat posts.

interesting mix of components with the Raleigh stem and bars.
Great choices, and beautiful crank.

Semi Pros and Pro Tours of that vintage came with pinstriping from the factory.

but it all came out pretty good. I was worried that the silver braided cables would be too much, but I am now glad I went there.
and yes, the pinstriping is factory: someone along the way removed the Centurion decals... but I find I don't mind - keeps it quite clean and still has the badge in front for anyone who is interested to know.

It is good to know that the SunTour Cyclone derailleur and ratchet barcons can handle your "narrow-8" speed setup. Nicely done!

That is a great looking machine. It looks ready for a century or rando ride.

Seriously class bike and you did a fantastic job of building it up.
What did you do for brakes and levers?

Don't worry at all. The braided cables are one of the things I noticed right away - they are awesome!! I wanted to try them on my 710 but went budget last minute. Maybe on my Austro-Daimler next summer...

I do have some center pulls but i decided to go against conventional wisdom... if it was a pro-tour then yes, centerpulls, but a semi-pro i felt could swing either way and since I went to the bother to hack them.. i felt i should use them. They are, btw, very good brakes.
mix of modern and vintage but trying to keep it classic

so I got impatient looking for the perfect bag (that did not cost $200) and got this tool bag for $16, and its near perfect! yes, the colors could be better, but it holds quite a bit and if I end up not liking it.. i can always use another tool bag.
