Rustoleum Paint Job SS Fixie Bike
Good evening all. Sharing with you my final paint job for a while cause I'm pooped I tell ya! Damn ideas pop in your head and you can't stop yourself 
Anyway, So I think this was a Panasonic but the serial doesn't quite match up so a bit of a mystery? J8H15589 any ideas? I swapped out the front fork so I could have front breaks and the frame had already been altered for rear. Brush painted by hand. Mixed a little Bronze into gloss black for some sparkle. Then two coats of thinned Bronze on forks, stays and lugs. Lettering from B&E Graphixs. Seat tube stripes hand cut from 651 Oracal vinyl. Fork/stays stripes from Velocals... Planning to change out the crank at some point but just went with what I had for now.

Thanks! I'm really happy with how it turned out. Hopping tomorrow's the first ride day unless it rains with a Hurricane approaching

My experience with Rust-Oleum from long ago was that it never cured to a hard finish, but was always a bit soft and gummy. Has that improved? Or maybe I was doing it wrong?

I'm following the thinning technique. Many coats, thinned to a milk consistency and it seems to dry very hard. I have noticed though, that if you get drips, they take much longer to be sandable. Maybe if you apply straight out of the can or too thick it's still as you say.

Beautiful! I really like how you set off the lugs and the forks and stays with the low-luster finish.

I saw the title and then saw the perfect paint being stripped and groaned...then I saw the finished product and was like, DAYUM! Good job, @xetaprime

Classy job, looks pretty special.
I've just used Rustoleum on my current build, but the 'Hard Hat' rattle can stuff we use at work. It's still a bare frame a week later, as it does take a while to go properly hard (and i've yet to build the wheels).

I've been experimenting with blue acid on frames lately but after reading about your recent adventures want to give that Rustoleum method a go. I've checked out a couple of stores nearby but they don't have the colours I want. What are you using to mix yours. Is bronze an off the shelf colour?

I think I ordered the Bronze paint from Amazon, for a bookends project for my Father last year. So it was just something I already had and thought- black and bronze might look cool?
I bought 2 empty paint cans for the thinned/mixed paints. The Protective Rustoleum:
Where I live I can find the white, yellow, red, green, blue and black. Some only in quart sizes. I hit HomeDepot, Lowes and Walmart. But you can mix these to get a color you want. As mentioned elsewhere, Google 'rustoleum paint job'. Tons of info, images and videos of some marvelous work. Painted a coat in the morning and at night, about 10-12 hours in between. After the first three coats I wet sanded. More coats and wet sand... This took about 5 coats of the black, then two for the bronze. Truth is my last bike I took more care and time with. The worst thing is the waiting, and rotating the frame on an old microphone stand and camera tripod and bad lighting and working in a one bedroom condo :0 and stuff P.S. If you do do this (heh heh) Last sanding use 1500 or really fine and last coat of paint use a 'new' brush. Looks almost like clear coat.

Rims are nice once you remove the stickers. Hubs verging on crap? Threads are crude- haven't really put them to the test yet. Had these on another bike never ridden so... (cue ominous music)

Love the valve caps too! I fly in the face of those that think they are not cool and wear them on all of my bikes...in different colors!
