NBA games don't end in ties. Neither do baseball games.

The MLB and NFL are clear and compelling arguments disputing that.

MLB is probably too intellectual for a lot of people. I get that. Requires too much thinking for a "sport." This is why keeping score in baseball is pretty much a lost art.

Exactly. Anyway it attracts around 3.5 billion viewers Worldwide.

Like I said...Americans are more discerning.

That Simpsons clip captured it perfectly. Funny no one is arguing with its premises.

Wrong again:

The total attendance of 70,747,365 in 2023 was a gain of over 6 million fans from 2022, when total attendance was 64,556,658.

I go back far enough to remember sportscasters like Vin Scully calling out a 6-4-3 double play; for those who keep score.

I never bothered to, but I often wondered what happens to those scorecards after the game. Do people, especially season ticket holders, keep them or are they round filed?

I framed the one where my kid scored an in-the-park HR*; no need to keep them otherwise. Do they even hand scorecards out at MLB games anymore? Our local minor clubs don't.

Why would I care?

Way more people drive Toyotas than Ferraris. What does that tell me about Ferrari drivers? Yep: More discerning.

It tells you that Ferraris are a lot more expensive and less practical for daily driving.

Anyway I looked it up and total MLS attendance is around 10 million, compared to 70 million MLB. By your logic (which seems nonsense btw) soccer fans are considerably more discerning.

It tells YOU that. I see a driver that simply has a higher level of taste and refinement.

No way, there are loads of clueless Ferrari owners. They just need to have some money to buy one.

Ummmm ... MLB attendance has been on a slow decline for years. The 2023 figure is lower than it was in 2000, 2001, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, and 2017.

It pretty much has to after it cratered during COVID. It doesn't change the long term trend, however.

Not really, since you clearly don't know anything about baseball. It has to do with several recent rule changes.

If that's true, then maybe they shouldn't have changed the rules, since attendance increased by 19 million the year before the rule changes were put in place, and 6 million after they were put in place.

MLB already knows they have an attendance problem. Why else do you think they're experimenting with rule changes?
