Hi,
I've got a 1x SRAM rival set up on my bike with drop handlebar shifters (hydraulic). The grub screw keeps coming loose over time and the brake lever ends up very close to the actual gear shifter. I always stop on the side of the road and screw the grub screw back in, but shortly after it'll come loose again!

I tried getting blue loctite on the screw but I cant apply it very well because I can't reach the screw well - in fact, I ended up making more of a mess on the underside of my shifter! Can I take the screw all the way out of the shifter i.e. remove it, apply the loctite, and put the screw back in? I'm reluctant to try without getting confirmation!

Use a toothpick to get a drop in place.

No I don't dare. You do it first and let me know what happens! Joke - but seriously, if you take it out please let me know how it goes

I tried to apply the loctite with a toothpick but it's still not holding. I think I might look for a better loctite. I have the blue loctite but it's the stick type, so I take a bit off the stick with a toothpick and try to get it on the screw.

I'm really struggling with this now, I can't seem to get that screw to lock in place. I've tried two different types of loctite:

I tried this one from Halfords:

I unscrew the grub screw as far as I dare, I put the loctite onto a little lollipop stick, and I use that to wipe it onto the screw. Then I screw the screw back and I leave it to set (24 hours).

Is it poor quality locitte or am I doing something wrong? I'm based in the UK, in case you have any suggestions for some good quality loctite.
