Vintage case of motorist vs. cyclist?
Is that clown thumbing his nose at the cyclist? This is from 1898, looks like things haven't changed all that much in almost 125 years. Well, maybe the "kit" LOL

A couple of times a month I read about a cyclist or pedestrian being killed in DC by a motorist. For cyclists it's nearly always by right turning drivers when the cyclist is moving straight through an intersection in a bike lane. For pedestrians it's usually if they are "jaywalking" but even people in crosswalks obeying a signal are frequently hit.

Indeed scary staff right there. Cyprus is a small island but it is a bicycle heaven. Still once every 3-4 months we hear of news where a cyclist was run over by a car.

They were in love. A clown and a showgirl. Everyone said it wouldn't last. And I guess they didn't. But it wasn't due to lack of love. Actually her corset was the culprit. It caused a deformed ribcage and serious digestive issues. He finally had enough of her incessant farting. He said farewell, but he gave her his favorite bicycle.

This is the fallacy of so-called "protected" bicycle facilities and motorists who have either forgotten how to make a proper right turn (by first yielding to cyclists and merging safely into the bike lane to start the right turn from the curb, rather than across the bike lane) or who cannot do so because of bollards and other dangerous "street furniture." The badvocates are killing us. Experienced vehicular cyclists and LCIs should be designing on-road bicycle facilities, because we know what we are doing and what works. LCIs should also be the ones training LEOs regarding enforcement of traffic laws for motorists and bicyclists.
