my Fizik Arione is still in usable condition but i fear it won't be for long.
the front section has considerable wear and the leather can be peeled back exposing a couple inches of the foam stuff underneath.
i want to glue it back down but worry that glue might melt the foam stuff.. any advice?

Cyanoacrylate, aka "crazy-glue". Worked on a leather-covered foam/plastic saddle I had a while back with the same problem.

Barge or similar "contact cement" will work. Put a thin layer on the base and a thin layer on the underside of the cover and wait until they dry. Then press them together firmly. The glue bonds instantly so have everything lined up before you put them together.

I also can't recommend Barge contact cement enough. It's in a yellow tube, and available at any shoe repair place. I glued the leather back around an entire seat, and it has held up perfectly. I would say, even better than the factory glue. I've been riding the seat all winter, and there does not seem to be any peeling.
Follow the instructions on the package.

contact glue. Take a look, you even have a menu to help you select the proper glue.
