That’s a bold statement!
Although I agree (to some extent) that Shimano hydro brakes are somewhat easier to maintain, I wouldn’t trash the Avid Elixir 7 Trail brakes on my secondary trail bike unless needed.
You just need to know how to deal with them to keep them running smoothly, and knowing that they’re NOT Shimano brakes is the perfect place to start :-)
