New Hunt Aero 50 wheels crack or scratch?

I just had these wheels put on last week. I went to finally go ride them and while I was putting them on my roof rack I noticed the rear wheel on the rotor side has a scratch or maybe crack. You can barely catch your fingernail on it and it was pretty hard to capture it in a picture

I did bring it to my LBS (they installed the wheel) this morning and they said it's most likely just a scratch and they didn't think I needed to send it back to Hunt for a warranty. They said the area didn't flex, creek, and while it's near a spoke it's not connected to one and the scratch seems very shallow and superficial. They did suggest keeping an eye on it and maybe marking the area. I filled the believed to be scratch with silver sharpie and wiped it clean, leaving the silver sharpie only in the scratched area and I marked the area at both ends with scotch tape to keep an eye out on the length of the mark.

First question, do you think I should return the wheel period for exchange?
Second, do you think this wheel is cracked or just scratched?

Apparently they have a very generous 60 day "ride and return" policy.

pull the wheel's rim strip off & shine a light in the nearby cavity. See if there's anything on the opposite side that might expose the effected area.

Looks like a scratch from when it was built. That said your gigantic photo sucks.

Good. Cracks often start at spoke holes.

I already setup a pickup but decided at this point I am going to ride it for the next week or so to see if the area grows or not

it's close but not at the spoke hole. I took a digital caliper and it 5.8mm in length 3mm away from the spoke hole

thanks for your input
