If you've got two, then you've can adjust toe-in on old fashioned caliper brakes, right?

Today I rode the Schwinn with one side of the top of the bar wrapped one way, and the other the other. Pretty tricky to pedal and remember which way to wring your hands at the same time, then throw in DT shifting... surprised I made it back home without making the call of shame

Begging your pardon. It's a Zéfal rim strip. I cleaned the rim with acetone this time. The one I took off was a mm short. The new one was a full inch short. I'll stay away from that brand in the future. The sad part is I have two more hanging on the wall.

During today’s century, especially the first 10-15 miles, there were some other riders that rode in our group (9 of us). A couple of them had TT/Tri bars which made me a little nervous. I did not want to be a French shower so did not say anything. Shouldn’t people know better than to show up on a big event with leg skewers on their bars??

Another Sunday, another "Oh my god I LOVE this bike!" experience. This time it was the Battaglin. Friday I'd ridden it and did my benchmark route (which someone kindly pointed out was basically a 40Km time trial) tying the record set a few days earlier on the Bianchi, but the fit felt off. I found I had to think about it to roll my pelvis forward rather than hunching my back. So I moved the saddle forward maybe 3-5 mm, raised it about 5 mm (because it measured lower than I expected) and tilted the nose of the saddle down just a tiny bit - like one full turn on the saddle angle adjustment screw on the American Classic seatpost. It's amazing how much better it felt!
Then I got a flat. On a descent. Luckily it manifested itself AFTER a turn and I as able to get the bike stopped with no issue, but there was no place on my side of the road to hang the bike, so I walked across the road and hung it on a fence on the other side. Piece of glass in the tread, with a point end poking through into the tube. Important lesson: Frame pump >>> minipump! I was able to pump the tire back up to full pressure.

We have the big crescents at the bike shop. I use a 1 inch box-end wrench on my cassette tool at home. That's about a foot long.

I rode right past one last Thursday. I've got so many that I didn't feel like turning around.

Miles from anything, I searched the side of the road hoping to find a bolt to put in place of the set-screw. I found a big ball bearing and jammed it into the seatpost to make it rideable. I eventually got down into Santa Barbara and went into the first gas station I found and they had a mechanic shop and a large assortment of bolts. The kid working sold me a bolt but I only had a $20. He didn't have change or didn't want to make change and got pissed off, but he let me keep the bolt. I rode the 30+ miles back to my car and I never used an A/C seatpost again.
I heard from friends who carried an extra set screw on rides.
