I need your advise! weight!
Here it is...i finished last season strong but during the off season i injured my groin playing ice hockey...now im starting to feel better but i have gain some extra pounds that i want to get rid of before cycling season starts. I was wondering what could i do to lose that 10-12 pounds that ive gained, i mean what kind of training would be best for me. Almost february and i have my first race in may! It would have to be indoor training since biking with 10feet of snow is pretty hard
I need your help!!
Thanks in advance

Making a kilometer blurry
I lost 12 lbs in 5.5 weeks by riding endurance pace for 90-120 minutes/day. This was a pace that allowed me to ride up hills with my mouth closed, just breathing through my nose -- but just barely. Not just spinning, but keeping the intensity down.
I combined this riding with a pretty solid diet to bring my daily Calorie deficit to around 1500. So, ride at the top of your endurance zone or bottom of tempo, cut back on meal portions, and eliminate a couple snack times.
This training will also likely build your aerobic engine quite well. I was amazed to come out of it with an elevated FTP.

Use the search feature at the top of the page. You'll find approximately infinity threads on the same topic.
The main thing would be to create a calorie deficit.

cut out all sugars.
cut out all fried foods.
work out every day.
dont blindly cut calories assuming what you need. Figure out how many KJ you burn everyday and adjust your diet to come in 500 BELOW that number.
since you will be running a calorie deficit eath during your workouts.

I'm shooting to lose 15 lbs in the next ~7-8 weeks...
I'm doing what the above have posted and so far I'm down 3 pounds.. aiming for roughly a third of a pound per day...

Simply put, try to minimize carbs after breakfast and pay attention to the GI. A big +1 to staying within your breath on the bike.
Protein shakes are awesome at killing your appetite, too. Usually after weight cutting I take a hiatus from omelettes and chicken breast
Two lines of speed when your morale falters helps too.

My training has been crap lately and I've lost 10 lbs since Christmas by cutting out pop and being more cautious of what I eat. i.e. only eating cookies once a week instead of 3x, and eating burgers with turkey meat, romaine lettuce, swiss cheese and wheat bun instead of a typical white bun greasy mess.

My wife made me pancakes this morning. She's not taking this weight thing seriously.

Every time you want a snack, eat a pickle instead. Your appetite will drop quickly. Second, get a virtual trainer to stay in cycling over the winter. They are pricey, but worth it.
