What tires for Schwinn Racer?

HI - I am restoring a Schwinn Racer 1964 single speed with coaster brakes. The original Schwinn branded tires are on it. 26x13/8. They say "fits s-5 or s-6 rims". Im thinking kendra sells the correct tire?. What tires should I look for to fit these rims?

You want 26 inch tires that are 597mm bead seat. 26" x 1 3/8" x 1 1/4" (37-597 ISO) size. Kenda is the most common brand. The "K23" model is the one that turns up most often.

Racers are cool looking bikes- I love the cockiness of the "Hat In The Ring" logo.

UNFORTUNATELY I think mine, from 64, was before they added that.

The Kendas are good repops of the originals. Just picked up a pair of the 27X1-1/2 gumwalls last month. Look is very close to the original HD Schwinn Puffs I was looking to use on a new project. Saw listings for black wall 26”, in the width size you need.

Racers are great looking and riding mounts, please keep us posted as you build proceeds.

'64 should have the Hat in Ring seat tube panel decal.
This is a '64 model.

Edit:
Looking at the catalogs, it looks like the base line Racer lost the hat in ring panel decal & RWB stripes for the '65 and later years, though the Deluxe Racer with the chromed fenders retained them.

That's a very nice tall frame Racer in a good color.

I was confusing my "new" racer with my other bikes when i said it was a 64: I looked up the date code for its serial DD46525 and it says it was made 5/1 1958! Hard to believe its that old. Its a basic single speed coaster brake, not a deluxe. So I think maybe the hat/ring logo was on the deluxe models but not the base model. Will post photos once its all back together.

DD is April 1968.
The '58 serial numbers only had one letter preceding the numbers.

Blue is my favorite color for bikes, but for this model, I prefer the black version.
This one is a bit earlier as it has the peaked front fender(last seen on the '63 version of this model).
Just to be clear, these photos are not my bikes, just photos that I've saved of particularly nice ones.

I really like them in black as well. I think for something like a Schwinn or a Raleigh three speed, black is always a good choice. I have a '64 black Traveler that is a good rider. I use the basic Kenda K23 37-597mm tires on it.

THE SERIAL NUMBER LOOK UP TOOL IS WRONG. Checked it a few times and it just says 5/1/58. It probably should say 5/1/68. Im going with that. DD46525. (Bike forums says I cant post photos until I have something like 10 posts)

If it provides any inspiration, here's the Deluxe Racer I did awhile back. I think it was a 67 but I'm not sure now. It didn't stick around all that long.

The serial numbers for 5/1/58 were D852273 - E813260.

The tool

Yes I believe the tool in this case just has a typo… 58 instead of 68

My 65 Racer 3 speed does not have the Hat in the Ring decal, but it is not a Deluxe. Nice riding bike, had it out for a 22 mile ride Tuesday night with our local group.

Racer

NICE! Mine is also red will look similar when done but I don’t have the hand brakes. I might flip the handle bars just to make it an old timey Racer.
