How far do you travel to race?
It dawned on me, after Rich mentioned he had no car, that I am lucky in terms of how near races are. I can ride a cross every weekend if I want, in 2 separate leagues, with all the races being between 15 & 50 miles drive away.
Some a complete pig to drive to, but reachable.
I wondered how easy it was for you Guys 'over the pond', and how much travelling you do to get to venues?
regards
Dan

150 km, from Montreal to Quebec City. We don't have many races in Quebec, and none in the Montreal area.

Guess it depends upon your local Cross action. Our local races are usually within an hour's drive (60 miles) and there are TONS of races down in Portland, OR and a few races with the crazy Canucks up north.
The farthest I'll travel this year is across the state 380 miles to Spokane for the state championships. If I'm not last, I win! : )

I am up for 1.5 hours to 2h max for a 45mn race.
After that it's not worth the wasted travel time.... of course if you can make a week end out of it then it's worth the travel.

I usually have to travel anywhere from 30mins to 2hrs. There are no local races and few that are close. I wish there were more but that is just the way it is.

Just went to my first race! ... 8 HRS Each-Way... Made a 3 day trip out of it so it was really a great experience though!
