A couple of Dahon Stowaway questions
Here I thought my wife and I were the only folding bike owners within a 100 mile radius. Nevertheless I just picked up a Dahon Stowaway at a second hand shop for $60 ($25 after a $35 credit for junk my wife had brought in). It has a 5 speed Shimano SIS derailer, fenders, chain guard, and rear rack. It's in excellent condition and rides about the same as our 2008 Mu P8 and Speed P8 , fits perfectly (I'm 6'2'' 195lb), and is only very slightly heavier than the Speed P8. My only complaint is it doesn't have folding pedals.
1) The serial number is DA95030198. Does that imply it was made in 1995?
2) The handle bars fold between wheels. Is there any way to rotate the bars so that they fold on the outside. It appears that the fold would be narrower that way.
Thanks
