Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Yes to clipless! Lots of slow crawling track stands at lights and foot down when I have to.

Westchester is a great start point. I really like the big rail trail for volume days, also across the Tap into NJ and I've done some Rt 9 area rides. I don't know the area well so I stick to the big routes.

And on riding in Queens, on second thought; it's downright horrible. I forgot how tough it is to drive a car here and cycling is worse. I'm just used to the thing.

Race went well, averaging 26 and I got up to 31 in my breaks. My data is all screwed up, they had to stop the race after a crash and I didn’t stop my garmin.

It was a lot of fun working as a team. One of my really strong team mates was behind me when we were down the last 2 laps. He was talking to me so calmly, it really helped. All was good until we crossed for the last lap, he then shouted to go harder than you have ever gone in your life. I was already going harder than I ever had in my life. I kept pushing but shifted to my right to let him go. He went and then the whole pack passed me lol. I latched onto the back for the finish. New max HR of 191. Was at 185 for like 15 mins.

Got out to play for about 3 hours yesterday. Probably been about two weeks since I've done more than just ride to work. Legs didn't have much towards the end but man it felt nice.

Foggy Paris Mountain is always a treat:

LAJ you were right in Hot or Not, the more silver this bike gets the better it looks. Back with the all silver cockpit, and found silver R7000 brakes. QR nuts from a set of '80's Shimano hubs. I'm really considering having the fork painted to match the frame since I'm enjoying the fit a lot more:

There's no way I use clipless in the city streets, too much stopping/un-clipping/re-clipping, and how fast can you really ride with a traffic signal set every 250 feet. Even to do Manhattan's westside greenway I've used toe clips because sooner or later you're going to encounter the streets.
