Meanings of Icons By Names/Avatars?
My apologies if this info is available somewhere on the forum. But if it is I've looked, and I can't find it.
What is the meaning of the various symbols (colored stars, bird, etc . . . . ) that appear next to a member's name and avatar in forum posts? I swear I've seen that explained somewhere, but if so I can't find it now.
I've figured out that the single and triple blue stars equate to moderators and admins, respectively. And it seems that the red star equates to some type of paid membership status. But I've also seen others.
Just curious. If there's a link somewhere that explains them, that will suffice.
Thanks in advance.

I also recall seeing a "legend" of this but that was many years ago.
One purple star is mod. Three is admin. The red star is a leftover from many years ago when a single payment got you a lifetime "membership" but now you must pay an annual membership and that gets you the yellow jersey. The eagle is a Sheldon Brown special award to a handful of very righteous recipients.
I think that's correct and I think that covers our bases, but I am sure others can chime in to correct me if not.

Hey that's sneaky. But probably some good thinking to do that.
If you click on the yellow jersey then it's takes one to where they can sign up for a paid membership. Probably did the same for the red star, but I didn't know that or any of this till just now.
If you click on the star beside the mod's or admin names, then it takes you to the list of all the admins and mod's along with links to PM them.

FWIW: yet another case of "different screens, different shades of color". On my machine, the moderator star certainly looks dark to be a dark blue (royal blue?) vice purple.
Edited to add: my apologies; that should have been "(at)datlass" originally vice "(at)dallas". Must be the aging eyes. (That's my story and I'm stickin' to it!)

@datlas, @cb400bill - thanks for the info, and for the confirmation of correctness, respectively. My apologies for the delayed reply; I didn't see this until just a few minutes ago.
