It was nice to meet you at the Monroe swap. I see from your video that I need to arrive a lot earlier next year! A lot of that stuff was long gone by the time I got there. I did score some things later in the day when people were packing up to leave. I hadn't intended to buy any bikes. A guy didn't want to put this Univega back in his trailer, so he offered it to me for a dollar. It was my size, so I said "Why not?" Then I found the correct size seat post in a free box. It was the only seat post in the box, so I took that as a sign that it was meant to be. I'll throw it together with spare parts to try it out, then if all is good, I guess I'll have another painting project.

The Fremont Schwinn sign came from my local shop. The shop was started by Dan Waggoner's father back in the 1950s. Dan sold the place about five years ago so he could retire. The sign was probably taken down after Schwinn went bankrupt and they started selling Trek and other brands. The shop is still in the same location under new ownership and sells Specialized and Cannondale.

Good to meet you there John.

I also saw that Fremont Schwinn sign. I attended the meet with a friend from Fremont Michigan and tried to get him to buy it.

I should of purchased that sign. Great piece of history. I have a place for it. I went to that store once helping my nephew. He let me go through the old steel schwinn drawers that day and he said someone was coming to buy the entire lot!

It was a pleasure to also meet John there. I didn’t see that Schwinn sign. I grew up in Fremont and bought my 73 Super Sport there. I believe the bike show had less vendors than last year.

Edit after watching video: John, I bought those NOS Super Champion 58 rims that you forgot to buy. I actually bought another set from the same guy last year, also NOS.
