Craigslist find...should I jump on it?
I found this on Craigslist this morning. The ad says that it's a 2011 Specialized Secteur, but I have some doubts. They only want $400. It's my size and everything. Does it look legit?

if its entry level he probably only paid $650-700 for it and he's been using it as a commuter bike which probably means less miles but treated a little more roughly.
it could be worth checking out to see if its not entry level...if its a 1 yr old bike that was $800+ then it could be a great deal. You'll need more info. to know for sure.
If its entry level I'd go buy a brand new 2012 for $650 and at least you'll know its in good condition and you'll get a warranty

I think it's at least as old as 2010. Maybe 2009. And it's a lower end model because it doesn't have the zertz inserts on the fork.
If it's in nice shape $400 wouldn't be a great deal but it wouldn't be terrible either. I'd offer $300 and if you settle on $350 that would be good.

What's with the picture? From wrong side, and it looks like poster took it with the Hipstamatic app on an iPhone.

Those look like Sora shifters as well. Still, it's a decent deal - especially if the seller is a bit flexible. The fit and condition will make a big difference in terms of the actual value to the OP.

I think this is the bike https://www.eriksbikeshop.com/2010-Se...3C6105/product Looks like it has 105 group, so it is a good deal, which means that it is probably already sold
edit
Those are not 105's. still a fair deal

It all depends on your intended use. I was able to find a 2007 Scott Speedster S30 with Shimano 105 group for $650. I have since upgraded almost everything but the frame, fork, bars (which they put on a set of nice carbon bars and didn't realize it), and brakes. It is now a very good bike that would easily cost $2,500 new. I love it. It has been the best bike I have had so far.

Looks like a fair deal. Just make sure he can open the lock that he said he will throw in with the deal.

You can look at bike archives on the Specialized web site to see if it really is what the seller claims it is, or to help ID it in detail if you've already got a good idea what it is.

It looks like it's something like this one:
https://www.specialized.com/gb/gb/bik...urtriple#specs
The colours don't quite match so it could potentially be a 2009 or 2011 model. I'm in the UK so it could be the colour schemes are slightly different your side of the water. Definitely looks like it's got Sora shifters on it.
