Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Thank you all.

On the bright side, I think I figured out how to keep the psycho from seeing my Strava. There's a feature called "Block Athlete". Hope it works. It seems like he's off his meds.

I used to have a Strava stalker. I think I bored them to death with all those 11mph avg speed rides, so they went away.

Nice shots, Les.

I see the northwest has more sun than we've had lately . . . sun hasn't been out since Monday. None tomorrow either.

I would have to go with the @coasting Short Stem Fit System®, of course, that 160-ish tiller ain't gonna work for me.
I have an identical Pinarello awaiting restoration here, without the wheels no less. I could see 6-650 here with the wheels, but that's gonna be hard to sell for that kinda money without a wheelset. The $600 and up guys usually want wheels.

CJ isn't suffering anymore. This is the first time in years that she's not in pain. She passed very peacefully. As if it were her last little act of taking care of PhotoJoanne, she passed with her head laying on the floor, tongue fully extended. That was SOOO her! At the last second, she gave my wife one last smile! Always taking care of her mama!

Thank you.

On FB, my cousin posted a link for that reflective paint/spray that's being marketed towards cyclists. He tagged a friend of his, a road cyclist, to call his attention to it in an attempt to be helpful/informative. A few of their common friends jump in to the conversation and good-natured insults are thrown about. At one point, my cousin refers to his cyclist friend as a "biking queen." Again, this was in jest, but still, my cousin is a good three bills, possibly exceeding 350. I get that we (cyclists, road specifically) are eminently mockable, but damn - at what point do you decide that you shouldn't be casting stones?

It's so tough when it's time. The only time that we had to have a pet put to sleep, my wife just couldn't be in the room. I completely understood, but I couldn't *not* be in the room - for that last bit of love, both given and received, and that moment of peace just before the end. My condolences again.
