Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

No, only purchasing.

Okay so I have a problem I though my erudite additictionites could help me with.
I purchased a new wheel set, Firecrest 202's, which I love, and got a new Campy Record cluster to go with it. Replaced with a non Campy 10 speed chain. Adjusted deraillure and brakes. Now the problem. A rattle of chain when in smaller 4 cassettes. Have adjusted, re adjusted and readjusted some more and cant get rid of the rattle. Any ideas of keepers of the cog?

Now here's some encouraging news for the over 60 crowd. I had simple accepted I would never be as fast as I was and that trying to be would be a lost cause. Then I got the Wahoo Kickr snap and Zwift and I'm here to tell you folks, for this 64 year old it is a game changer. My first ride this spring after a winter on Zwift was incredible. I was floating up hills seemingly effortlessly. I was stunned to see a final 30 mile average 1.5 mph faster than my fastest average last year. It is common for me now to be averaging 2 mph faster than last year and am routinely averaging 19.5 mph on my rides. Awesome improvement and faster than I have ever averaged even when in college so there is hope for growth.

Others may not see the same. For me the benefit of Zwift is the competitive urge when riding with others. As I ride solo outdoors 99% of the time, the edge. Is lost. On zwift I see myself essentially doing intervals, racing against others as well as my past times. That and the sprints dotted throughout the courses makes it a different ride. You guys with club rides are likely doing that already.

Stoney, I doubt this is it, but it can't hurt to check. Make sure the axle nuts are tight. If they unwind, it becomes impossible to get the RD properly adjusted in a way that stays right. And there are chains that are just noisy. I like KMC for quiet.

Also, is the chain unidirectional and been put on with the correct side outward? Plus, it has been cut to the right length?

Nuts are good. Things I considered, should I have gotten a Campy 10 speed chain, 11 speed chain?, new pulleys for deraillure?

I think I see the problem. You're using a deraillure instead of a derailleur.

Also, you should be running the chain that corresponds to your drivetrain - 10 speed chain for 10 speed drivetrain. KMC chains work fine with Campy. I have a KMC X11sl with my 11 speed Campy Record.

Great minds think alike, I was just going to suggest that.

Have you looked to see that the cogs and top jockey wheel on the derailleur are clear of each other? The B screw adjusts that distance. May not be relevant to the last five cogs, but still, worth checking...

Yeah I checked that with the repeated adjustments. Still noisy.

Ti is quite tinny at the best of times. The clang of my Ti beside my steel bikes is quite different when tapped.

One other thought... is the cassette locking ring properly tightened?
