Help with converting from 3 speed Strumey Archer to single speed.

Hello all, Im restoring my 1970 Robin Hood English 3 speed and I had a question about the chain and rear cog. I have ordered the appropriate wheelset with the single speed rear hub already installed. (coaster brake) What size chain do I get? 1/8? If so what length? Can I type into a google "single speed 1/8 chain" and buy the cheapest one? Is there anything else Im missing?

Use 1/8 inch chain if you have a coaster brake. If the sprocket on the coaster brake is the same number of teeth it should just bolt in with the same chain length. If it is not the same number of teeth then buy a new chain and cut it to the correct length. Should be plug and assuming you are using the original size tires. If you bought a 700C speed wheel you may not be able to fit it into the frame. Roger

When in doubt, use 1/8" wide chain. You can run 1/8" wide chain on both 1/8" and 3/32" wide cogs and chainrings, but not vice-versa.
