I wanted to connect with someone who might have some insight into a couple of bike frames I have and what their rarity might be. I had Jocelyn Lovell build me a time trial bike in 1982. It was built with mostly Campagnolo Super Record parts, and some trick Modolo Kronos brakes. My Cyclops is one of the first ones built, it has a Lovell bottom bracket and wondered if their are any others out there with the ❤️ cut-out? Forums won't let me post pics because I'm a new member

Jocelyn Lovell was a seriously good trackman sprinter. Very seriously good. World-class seriously good.
When Marinoni went for (and eventually set) his age-bracket (75+, I believe) Hour Record a few years ago, he did it on a frame he had built for Jocelyn Lovell 30+ years earlier.
of his second, succesful effort. (He fell a little short on his first try.) It starts with a great drive-side shot of the bike in the starting block.
Also,
for the film "Marinoni: The Fire in the Flame" that was screened at one of the early Eroica events. I saw it there and bought the DVD - it's worth tracking down, if you can, and watching. Marinoni is, shall we say, quirky (a framebuilder with a quirky personality? Who'da thunk it?) but kind of endearing in his way. The film includes some footage of Marinoni and Lovell reconnecting after having not seen each other for a number of years. It also includes footage of him training for and riding his first (unsuccessful) hour record attempt, Marinoni gathering mushrooms, brazing a frame, and a visit with him to his old stomping grounds in Italy. As I said, it's worth watching.

Yes, Jocelyn Lovell built around 100 frames, I'm lucky to have one of the last he built before his accident, then Mike Mulholland took over the business building his own frames called Cyclops, I own one of the first he built also.

Stumbled across this and thought I'd share a picture of my Cyclops. Softride carbon fiber "Crossbow" - was what Mulholland called the model. Groupo is Mavic Zap with the electronic rear derailleur (front shifter was still mechanical on downtube). I had Campagnolo Shamal rims - bike was gorgeous in it's day. Tear dropped CroMoly frame. Piece of art honestly. If anyone is interested, i'll put the Shamals on and take cleaned up picture. Some bar tape too.
