700c Mavic A319/Deore wheelset. 36 spoke. The best for touring!

For sale is a wheelset made with Mavic A319 rims and Deore hubs. 100 front spacing, 135 rear spacing. High quality stainless spokes. Very nice and clean wheelset! I have toured on a lot of wheels, and broken a lot of rims and hubs, and the A319 and Deore are the only ones I have not broken! What's their secret? Forged hubshells make the hubs resistant to cracking, and and double eyelets distribute the load from the spokes to both walls of the double-walled rim! I don't go touring without them.

These spin true and have fairly little wear. The bearings were just overhauled. These wheels will convert any old steel bike into a reliable world-class tourer! I mount tires as big as 48mm wide on them, with no trouble.

Here are some photos.

How's $200 plus shipping sound? That's half of what anybody's charging, that I can find. Shipping will be Shipbikes/Fedex and shouldn't be more than $30. If you think the asking price is unreasonable, please make a reasonable offer.

Will take Venmo (preferred), bitcoin, money order, google cash app, cash in an envelope, or (if you must), paypal F&F.

I guess I should know enough to tell from the pics, but....Will the free hub accept a 9 speed cassette? Thanks.

Scarlson, Is it safe to assume that the wheels have been sold or a 9-speed cassette will not fit.

Ahh, I just saw this post! Yes, they have been sold - had them also posted in classic & vintage sales.

BUT, I have a similar wheelset if you want it! Less high-end hubs, but same rims. Will fit a 9sp cassette for sure! Are you still interested?

Sorry, but I was hit with some "fixable" health issues and have not been on the forum very much. If you still have the 2nd set of wheels, I need them for a Trek 520 project and would like the details and price. I'm from the se Massachusetts area but live in coastal NC, I do have a friend that may be able to pick up the wheels and bring them down on his next visit.

Hi there, I did sell that other wheelset as well! I think I have nothing more at this point, except for things that take freewheels and suchlike not fit for touring. I hope you can find what you're looking for! These days a good Deore/A319 wheel is more easily sourced from Europe than here, I reckon.
