You can use other Shimano compatible 9 speed cassettes and RD, for example these:
microshift 11-36 cassette (SRAM or Sunrace will work as well)
microshift RD-M46L rear derailleur, it has 45T chain wrap capacity, can handle the 36T cog, cheaper than Shimano. I run it with Shimano Sora 3503 road shifters, works very well, literally set and forget.
