Hello!
From the Driftless region of western Wisconsin!
Moved here ten years ago, brought my 1972 Motobecane Grand Record along but it's been in the basement ever since. Earlier this year I thought maybe get it back into ride-able shape? Then instead bought a 2022 Kona Dew+ to commute to my part-time job just under a mile away... leave the car parked instead of driving such short trips.
The Kona's great but at over 36 pounds I soon decided I was getting into decent enough shape (I'm 74 now & my cardiologist agrees with my plans!) that warranted taking the Moto down for a thorough cleaning & re-lube where needed along with new ball bearings everywhere they'd been designed in. The Moto's just a bit over 24 pounds and with 2x5 gearing is more suited to recreational pursuits despite not having fenders... or maybe because?
Over half-century old but still up for quality time on the road!
Anyway, glad to be here. Many questions likely will follow.
