I decided that this morning would be a bike crick hunting session. After 90 minutes or so, I've successfully eliminated zero of the targeted noises.

I feel your pain. My Storck has something clicking. I've narrowed it down - it's not the front wheel....maybe. What helps a lot is that it's intermittent and doesn't seem to follow any kind of pattern. Saying a lot of bad words hasn't changed anything, so I guess I need to try something else.

I've not seen this. To the contrary, I've been surprised how little is expected of the patient. The witch doctors view you only as a lab rat, upon which they administer their various concoctions in experimental fashion.

Nope. I haven't really worn my earbuds much, lately. Without the ear coverings of winter garb, they seem to be prone to wind noise. I might seek out another set, but no reviewers seem to cover how they fare at 20mph.

You know where you are now. You know the goal. You don't know the path.

My experience with such things tells me there's a 47.32% chance it's not where you think it is, especially when you feel really certain that you have isolated it.

But, yeah. The Canyon's got a noisy bottom bracket, which used to drive me nuts but now I don't notice it.

Loosened up the compression bolts on the crank arm, tightened the crank bolt, and retightened the arm. Done.

Yeah, I know, which is why I said "semi-isolated." It's in the orbit of the NDS crank arm, but it could still take some work to straighten out. I'll poke around a little more in the afternoon, if I have time. If I had the BB tool for my BB, I'd pull it out, too, but I don't, so.... that's prolly where it is.

Yeah, that was one of my first thoughts, and I've done that twice over the course of things. No dice.

Scout has a crick. I know what it is, but I haven't remedied it yet.

Another lovely ride. On a gorgeous day! I don't know if I'm odd man out here, but I am usually meh about going for a ride. Plenty of other things to keep me busy. But it's on the schedule. As soon as I throw my leg over the saddle, the world changes. Time ceases to exist. Etc.

Until it’s time to move, then it’s like “Why TF do I keep all this ****? When’s the last time I used this ****? When will I ever use this ****? “

I’m mostly thinking about my dad’s old truck mechanic tools. Of course I never used them and it’s past time to get rid of them.
