Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Brown Handlebar Tape with a Black Saddle?

I'm looking for Brown/Honey handlebar tape. Any recommends? I'm just trying to add some color to my bike.

I found these but they don't seem to be in stock anywhere.

Fizik Bondcush 3mm Bar Tape

Lizard Skins DSP Handlebar Tape 3.2 mm

The Fizik Bondcush seems to be in stock in brown on the Fizik site for the USA. https://www.fizik.com/us_en/terra-mi...ush-tacky.html

My take is, with a black bike and black saddle, you can go with ANY color. Blue is nice.

Brown bar tape, for me, is something you use with maybe a green bike.

I am usually running Pireli or Continental; Tan or Transparent sidewalls. Does this count?

The brown tape and tan walls look good on the green bike but I can't see the saddle. JMO but mixing black and brown accessories just adds a discordant note. That said, the one time I felt compelled to venture beyond black tape I consulted a color wheel . It was a red/orange bike and the complementary color I chose was a grass green, Neubaum's cloth. I thought it looked cool but took some ribbing. People rarely consult me about fashion....

Yeah, the pic doesn't show the saddle, which is indeed black. If Brooks still made the Cambium saddles in brown, that's what I would've bought.

Then again, the saddle is usually smothered in ass, so not too visible. Then the tape and sidewalls (which get darker with use) are a nice match.

An example of "brown elsewhere on the bike". This is Mrs. Peel, BTW.

I have both their saddle and the tape. The saddle is super comfy (YMMV) and the bar tape feels/looks nice... High quality stuff for sure (Time bikes use their products on their bikes).

I have 4 Selle Repente saddles: Quasar CR, Artax GLM, Spyd 3.0, and Prime 3.0. The first is weight weenie (121 g) and the other three are quite comfortable for only 40 g more.
