50/34t crankset on Giant Revolt Advanced Pro Force?

Hi folks,
I'm looking to pick up a 2nd hand Giant Revolt Advanced Pro Force with the SRAM Force eTap AXS.
It comes stock with a 46/33 chainring and I'm wondering if it's possible to adjust the front derailleur up enough to fit a compact, 50/34 chainring? There seems to be *some* vertical adjustment of the front mech though I'm not sure it's sufficient to get those extra 4 teeth.
Is anyone able to help?

It is possible. Check the system manuals on the SRAM site, they explain how to mount the FD for a larger front chainring...but, why would you want to do that? The AXS tooth counts for their 12-speed systems are different than the standard tooth counts found on 11-speed drivetrains, mixing and matching 11 speed chainrings to 12-speed cassettes may give some funky gearing. Also, the AXS FD is designed for a 13t step between chainrings, not 16t.

Thanks for the response.

I don’t need it to be 50/34 exactly. Just want to be able to run a bigger gear. I’m trying to set this up as an all-rounder bike and want to be able to pedal hills on the road without spinning out.

is there a larger chainring tooth combo that works with the 12 speed cassette?

I'm not deeply familiar with the SRAM 12-speed stuff, I just know that their mainline chainset options are sized to the cassettes to give a range that is similar to the well-established 11-speed drivetrain ranges. What I do know, is that FDs are not like RDs, and exceeding their capacity has the potential to really bugger your setup.

That said, with a bit of research, I think you could well identify the various SRAM chainset options, and cassettes, and then play with them using this nifty calculator to compare.

Riding in the 46 and 10 is basically the same as 50 and 11.

indeed it is! In that case perhaps it’ll be a non-issue

I’ll do some more research before I change anything. Perhaps I’ll call sram to see what they recommend? That calculator looks very handy! Thanks for the sage advice!
