Glue 'em! Tape 'em!

Or buy one of these for $8:

But I'm still in favor of cardboard.

Getting over two pages when all that is needed is this still: https://problemsolversbike.com/produ...headset-spacer. No messing with other spacers, no taping, no glueing, no worries about the KlickFix mount, no cardboard, no canti cable stop, no band clamps or anything else needed just a simple easy to install locking headset spacer which essentially replaces the stem for keeping everything properly preloaded and in place.

Zip tie, radiator hose clamp, or a couple of big rubber bands, or spare stem. They make collars with allen bolts much like a seatclamp too, or masking tape, or a few slices of inner tube, or....

The problem with this thread is that there are too many viable options.

So, I'll toss in another. 99 cent hose clamp.

I was going to amend my earlier post re: cut-down old stem - I've an assortment of ally tubing that I use for sleeves and shims to make stuff fit where it doesn't, I probably have what the OP needed, just didn't think of it until I needed some yesterday.
