Hello from Austin,TX
Hi everyone. First post on this forum. I have been riding a Firemans 4 BMX cruiser (single speed) for over a decade for fun and exercise. Also, have a kludged mountain bike on a nice Zwift setup that I like to use in the winter. Decided it was about time to "get some gears" so I bought a new Trek Checkpoint ALR 5 last month and having a blast. Let's just put it this way, 10 speeds were the "in thing" when I was a kid and that was the last time I rode a drop bar bike....my sisters bike....my bike had a banana seat. Took me a few days to get used to it but I've been putting about 100 miles per week on it. I've had to make a few tweaks to make it fit a bit better, a higher angle Ritchey stem and some Specialized hover bars to get me a bit more upright. The kludged mountain bike that was on the trainer is now hanging in the garage and the new bike is soooo much better for Zwifting.
Look forward to learning about the tech on bikes these days, my BMX cruiser was pretty damn simple, not much to adjust or go wrong.
