That was meant as a joke; my apologies if it seemed rude.

Quads may not be legal to ride on streets and bike paths. I think the definition of "bicycle" covers only up to three wheels in most, if not all, jurisdictions.
For example, here's the definition for Washington State:
RCW 46.04.071
Bicycle.
"Bicycle" means every device propelled solely by human power upon which a person or persons may ride, having two tandem wheels either of which is sixteen inches or more in diameter, or three wheels, any one of which is more than twenty inches in diameter.
For example, here's the definition for Washington State:
RCW 46.04.071
Bicycle.

if the 4 wheel bike isnt any wider than a 3 wheel bike than i dont see any problem with back roads and sidewalks......yea i know but the sidewalks here are for the most part empty cept for an occasional bicycle....and noway would i ride it in a bike lane....unless it was wide enuff for me to feel comfortable....even then it would be rare
they're building extra wide sidewalks and bike paths here so it will be easier once thats done......the roads here arent very bicycle friendly nevemind quads

Please explain!
I'm going to guess that if you were hiking up a nice secluded fireroad and I came bombing down the hill at you, all Dukes of Hazard sideways, that you might be pretty horrified!
But as my Dad used to say, "Don't knock it 'til you've tried it!"
I highly recommend a Greenspeed GTO with a Rohloff rear hub. Serious off-road fun with MORE than 2 wheels!

While I agree with you and your dad, there are a healthy majority of interweb trolls who believe the exact opposite.
