Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Up in Oregon BITD we would mow lawns in the fancy neighborhoods and one guy had an acre of grass on a hillside that he only wanted mowed fortnightly. That slope was riddled with little black snakes and littler garter snakes. I never got used to them and would jump at the sight of them, even if one had just been chopped in half and was being spit out the mower's chute I would be startled.

Best of luck. it's good you can keep her in the loop with your medical background. It's your turn to step up and I'm sure you will.

News flash:
I cut one of my lawns before the rain. It was getting dangerously tall. The 71 degree dew point challenged my heat tolerance. Keep in mind I'm fed up.

We had lightning strikes and lots of thunder off and on all afternoon but not one drop of rain. It quit raining middle of last week and the grass is already taking on a dullish green look and headed for brown.

Apparently, 6 hours after someone tweeted that there had been no fatal lightning strikes in the US in 2021, some poor schmo was struck by lightning and killed. Clearly, whoever tweeted about the absence of fatal strikes does not know how the Universe works. NEVER MENTION GOOD FORTUNE, because Fate will feel obliged to respond.

Cripes. I thought everyone knew that.

I've had months of swelling in my left knee. It would be a really terrible if I jinxed the streak.

Did you see used car prices went up 7% last month? Maybe it's happening to bikes, too?
