Is there any reason to not use "wet weather" wax chain lube all the time?

Wax lubes like White Lightning come in various formulations but is there a genuine reason to not use the wet weather formula all the time?

Thanks.

It's an oily lube which lubricates fine in all conditions but attracts more dirt than wax types which some don't like.

the point of "dry climate" lube is to not attract gunk as bad. IMO, it's pointless to use a lube that states "dry weather" & expect a cleanish drivetrain. Lawn sprinklers getcha, & if those don't a pooling puddle from them will.

For the 100 years of chained bicycles before White Lightning was invented, those chains were lubed with various oils. Only nobody called oil a wet weather lubricant, it simply worked and worked well.

Supposedly a dry lube won't attract as much dust, if you live in a desert, and won't give you an oily chain ring tattoo on your calf. Of course, if you wipe your "wet lubed" chain off with a rag every couple hundred miles, it won't have a lot of gunk on it either.

It really doesn’t matter. Every cyclist finds a lube, or lubes, that he or she swears by for any number of reasons.

But we should all embrace these lube threads because the day is coming when lubeless chains will be the norm. When that happens a small part of our identity in each of us will die.

I want belt drives for all my old bikes... between that and sealed bearings that would be maintenance heaven. And then I could tell both the waxers and anti-waxers to ALL to take a flying leap in a deep dark lake.

I like it when it's wet on the chain to be able to fling off & out in to the air. The beautiful mist of spent oil+wax just seems rad.
