Another local find that I just could not resist. Grabbed it about two hours ago. Heading out on a ride soon but I'll go over this closely when I get back and them hopefully get it out tomorrow for a test.

2007 Poprad size 52 with a pretty good paint job on it still. Mostly rebuilt with newer parts and I did get the old stuff and other extra's. Pretty good morning as I also scored another Fizik Kurve Chameleon saddle which is my favorite.

"I built this bike up last Winter. At that time I put brand new brakes, chain with quick link disconnect, 30/46 Tooth FSA Crank (gravel gear ratios), FSA bottom bracket, cable housings (brake/shifting), bar tape.Drive train is 10 spd Shimano 105 with an Ultegra rear cassette with 11/28 Tooth range. 2 sets of tires inluded, 1 set is 40 mm knobby and the other is 32 mm slicks.

Almost every part has been upgraded from the original bike, although I still have the old parts that'll come with the bike as well."

Only obvious issue I spotted when I picked it up was a little play in the front hub. He had serviced them so should just be a little preload adjustment needed

This may mean the Team USA goes back to road duty or at least won't be the choice for the mountainous gravel rides.

I just love how completely decked out you made that Raleigh. Great all-road bike from back in the day.

Great pick up, I look forward to some closer-up pictures of the fork. I like the upwardly tilting stem, there's something about the fork, slightly sloping top tube and that stem that makes the bike look like it's practically jumping forward.

^ It's a great ride although it hasn't seen any real gravel yet. Winter holds on a long time out here so the gravel stuff is just now becoming useable. Mostlly it's just all mud but they should change shortly.

jamesdak, I am a bit jealous of your disc brake Poprad acquisition, and it is my size. I have been casually looking for one for a few years. I have a 2001 that I switched from cantilever to mid reach calipers. They are sweet, versatile bikes. I have mine with 6400 bar end levers, set in friction mode, matched with Shimano road brake levers. I am running 11 speed with 46-34 front and 11-36 rear.

If you ever decide to let yours go, it is welcome in Delaware. And, I have never owned a red bike, 2 birds 1 stone.
I am curious of the tire clearance for the disc brake model. Mine clears 35mm Gravel King slicks, but Semi slick is iffy, and semi knobby rub with aggressive cornering and acceleration. The front has more room.

I was thinking about buying a new bike around 2007, and an in-the-know co-worker recommended an orange Poprad which was on closeout for around $500. I passed.

Someone once also offered me a ticket to the ‘83 U2 show at Red Rocks at face value…

I own/run two 55cm Poprads (a 2003 and a 2003 Wayzata converted to a Poprad..Wayzata is the same frame with a straight bar). Nice bikes. They are the bikes I ride the most these days due to their ability to run 38mm tires (GK Slicks and now Schwalbe Marathon Supremes). Both bike have road-triple cranks(handy for older farts). I've stripped and repainted both of them using auto paints with 2K clearcoats. If I ran across an '07 with disc brakes(in a 55cm)..I'd probably grab it..just because. I also run a Victoire and a Maillot Jaune, but I'm partial to the ride of 38mm tires...sort of addicting.

Like yours the front has plenty of room for the Kendra 700 x 40's on it right now. The back is a lot closer by the chainstays and shows signs of rubbing. By coincidence I just ordered Gravelking SK Knobbies for it in size 700 x 35. Hopefully they fit ok in the back but if not they'll just be spares for the Team USA.
