Classic track bike sale
As soon as my insurance approves it, I'll be going in for hip surgery and possible replacement. I'm pretty sure street fixie riding will be frown on by all involved medical professionals, so I'm ready to remove the temptation.
SOLD. Connie Carpenter's "Puch" track bike from early 80s (possibly earlier). 56x56. It popped up on my local CL during covid and I snatched it up. Some use patina, but no rust except for a couple of the older paint chips. Most wear to the back of the fork. Superbe Pro cranks, unknown cartridge BB. Campagnolo seatpost, headset. Cinelli Criterium bars/stem. The wheels that came with it were hipster clinchers, so I've replaced them with Campy track (locknuts were '78 or '73) laced to Fiamme Speedy tubulars with double butted spokes. Front wheel is radial with slight braking surface wear. Brooks.

Bike #2. 1972/3 Raleigh Professional Track
RTP in classic color combo. 56x56. All original. Could stand a bearing repack. Currently has a crookedly-drilled period fork installed by PO, but the unmolested origina 531 fork is included. A little cellotape residue on the TT that was serving as a protector. No noticable dents that I can see. Large tire clearances for a track bike. Maxxis 28c tubulars currently installed. The rear is very ugly, I take full responsibliity in using way too much glue. If buyer would like to relace, I have a near NOS replacement rim I can include. $800 plus shipping.

Any takers at $550 on the RPT? It's all boxed up and my wife would love the box out of the dining room

While I really want this and the price is about right and I could possibly swing it, the shipping kills it for me.
Thanks, GLWS.

If only it were my size, I'd be on the Raleigh like bees on honey. I bought one of these brand new in 1973 and rode it until the frame failed and Raleigh replaced it with one in Team colors in 1978. I always preferred this color combination, even though the frames were almost identical, otherwise. $800 is a great deal for one of these.
