Light came on last night. Did not notice any change in sounds or any kind of slippage in the trans. Gas mileage did appear to go down, but I could be paranoid.

Same. I was disappointed it came to an end, but it was a good enough reason to not dwell on it.

I'm not an auto transmission guy, but normally when I saw that code, and it was a slip issue, the clutches in the torque converter were heading south. Picture a slipping clutch. If the RPM of the transmission is off a certain amount compared to the engine rpm, that's what it looks for when it sets the code. It's generally not much, between 50-200rpm difference.

Naw. Have not gotten to the Air Bus crosswind limitations yet. Working on systems now. I would imagine that was close to the limits or beyond limits.

I mean can the torque converter be replaced or a wiring issue, or should I plan on a new transmission.

I plan on being in my prime at 40. As I typed this, I just realized that is in 4 years. How sad.

Unless I have a major crash, or a bad enough scare, or health takes a dive I plan on to just keep racing as long as I can ride a bike. I’m not going to be able to really become competitive til Simon is in school.

Torque converter is replaceable, but before you do anything have a tech with a scan tool with data stream verify it all.

Lloyd, it took me about 5 years to come to grips with quitting racing. I kept my license current and kept thinking that I would start doing some 45+ masters racing. Then, I found a fun sport group to ride with and never looked back.

I went through that with the TT/Hill Climb period. Mrs. LAJ saw I was not having any fun at all, so she told me to go race in the manner I enjoy. The first crit back, I gave her the rundown, especially the part where I had never done as well as I'd done at that crit, and any crit, for that matter. "You raced with people?" was her first response. After that, it was all good.

Oh, I am not doing anything. I have to drive that wet dream on wheels to Dallas in 3 weeks. A professional will def be looking at it and charging me a premium for it.

When I was in my 30s I had a series of ear infections that about drove me crazy. Saw different doctors, took antibiotics, etc. One doc told me I had bony growths that prevented the ears from draining/drying completely. Almost like swimmer's ear. I've only had a couple of issues since then. I'm careful about getting water trapped and try to keep the wax under control, even though it should be more popular.

Yea, I don’t know what’s going on. Been flying since 2006 and I have never had issues clearing my ears. I feel like since Sept I have had issues. Not every trip but more than not I have to fight to clear my ears. Sometimes it the right ear that’s hard to clear sometimes the left. My left ear has been blocked all day. I have some prescription ear drops that I will use, but this plus the car means I don’t think I am going to work Monday.
No pain, it does feel weird, no weird stuff coming out, but yea I can’t hear or clear it.

Like LAJ said, Torque converter clutch is not happy, or the computer is not happy with the TCC. Could be something electrical, even simple. More likely the problem is within the torque converter. Light throttle, flat ground, 40ish mph, the tcc should lock up in top gear. It feels like a shift to a higher gear and while cruising, still light throttle, lightly touch the brake pedal. If the tcc is working you should see an increase in rpm, maybe 2-300 rpm and you can hear it. That's about the only quick test you can do without a scan tool and it just tells you if it's working at all. Take a look at the dipstick. If it's burnt looking and smelling, the trans could be in trouble.

I’ll check the fluid now. I don’t want to drive it again until I take it to the shop monday morning. It’s at 129,000 miles. Never towed anything. I really hope the transmission isn’t shot.

I've had the wax stuck to the point I had to get the doc to clear it. This was after all the infections. There is a product to soften the wax.

58 mile club ride today. Low 40s at the start so a couple people thought it would be a good idea to hammer right away. First 12-14 miles I was just red-lining trying to hang on, as were a few others. Finally I went to the front and sniveled about it and they dialed it back a bit. One of them was on an e-bike. That first part took a lot out of me, and some of the others.
13 riders including 4 women. The climbs and big rollers were fine but later the flats got a little spicy again. Legs were pretty tired on the last climb.

Some people are doing a little climby ride tomorrow and I was thinking about it but now I don't know.
