Bikes: A green one, "Ragleigh," or something.

Oh, Dear Lord! Almost everything about that bike is deliciously awful; right down to the random zip ties. Perhaps the most aesthetically challenged bike I've ever seen in these pages -- I wish it were mine!

There were 3 carbon Y bikes in the trek line up, Y11, Y22 and Y33, same monocoque, different finishing kit. The shop race team rode full XTR versions for a while with AMP forks.

Not good in windy conditions...

Camo race kit, ground breaking at the time . The kit changed every year and was always awesome. I gave my shirts to some friends in Colorado

It would be fun to try a Softride - have always wondered about them. For $50 it might be worth it just for the parts.

The drywall cut and the location make me wonder if this is someone who got flooded by Florence and is trying to clear out old stuff.

How would one attach a Softride to a monocoque Y-frame? I though Softrides required dedicated braze-on fittings, and rather substantial ones at that.

Pretty sure I know who the owner is. I've raced her. She may have sold it by now. I see the flood cut, too., but could just be a typical water loss. Studs look too good for salt water.

Eastern NC had a lot of soft rides at one time; now it's a Cervelo flea market.

Seems so. From 17 hours ago:

"Softride road bike ( rare find )
Jacksonville, NC · 17 hours ago ·
$350
Here’s your chance to own a one of a kind bike. A head turner for sure. A rare find, the only place you will find a softride these days is eBay if you’re lucky. This unique bike gives you the strengths of a road bike combined with a one of a kind suspension system. These bikes in their prime were called speed bikes, because of their ability to give riders an edge over other bikes. So much so that some riding associations banned them in Europe. The beam that supports the seat is made carbon fiber. Some people sell that part alone for 200 on eBay. The bike runs great for its age. A few upgrades. In no rush to sell. I will keep riding it here and there."

(I'm sure the new owner will "keep riding it here and there", for quite some time...)

So maybe this is a 'flood bike'. The CL post location is Atlantic Beach, NC so it could be. Very observant! The CIA may have a job for you.

Great stuff on that beam bike.

Crank looks like US made Precision Tooling, sold by Grafton and or Topline. Some good, some bad and prone to fracture.

Late version are not fully drilled through for pedal axles, the arms also have a taper fluting. 110 bcd. Ti hardware weigh sub 530 gm with rings. Beauty.

Grafton cranks. A friend of mine had them until they bent. I think he weighed about 150 pounds.

According to this (not an authoritative source), Grafton was a knockoff of Topline: https://www.ebay.com/i/332576374744

Thanks for the reminder; there's a pair of Nashbar SPD sandals on my local CL, and I've been forgetting to contact the dude.
