That red really pops. and with all those upgrades loooks better than the new Treks. Schwinn went "old is new again" with their fixed gear bikes in 07 and 08, cannondale did with its 08 Capo. Will the trend continue into road racing? who knows.

Unknown year, it's on Craigslist. 54cm frame, advertised to be in excellent condition - it's pictured in a garage on a bike rack, so it looks like it was stored indoors. This is the only picture of it in the post:

Unfortunately, it's too small for me - I would probably end up reselling it if it was worth the effort.

Ok thanks, will do ! Should I also put red tape back on, I should recieve red ambrosio tape this week. The black tape (and saddle) look very nice in person but not in pictures, unfortunately. I tried white and it really does'nt look good. I also have black hoods that I might try.

No, absolutely leave it black. Looks deadly that way.

Dangerous? I hit a small rock on my '84 Raleigh yesterday on a long, fast downhill curve over a bridge.
POP!
Tires made out of RUBBER and filled with pressurized AIR are DANGEROUS, and should be outlawed! Only a fool would go downhill on them.
Bring back the solid rubber tire!

The Splinter, so much room for catastrophic carbon failure on this one

Sure. Here are first bad pictures shot with my mobile phone, but I'm not done yet. Please excuse the wheelset, it's a hit in the face i know . Will be all Mavic S.S.C. except not Mavic-made/-branded excisting saddle (Super Turbo), seat post (CLB/Vitus), freewheel (Gipiemme), tape (Ambrosio), clips&straps (Christophe), bottle cages (Elite) and tires (not sure now).

here is my mid 90's (i think 96-97) trek 5200 (new wheels seat bars stem derailleur pedals).
went to my lbs the other day and the guy said "wow thats vintage, you gotta hand that on your wall"
my reaction was "vintage? I thought it was my modern road bike?" guess i was wrong

these spagetti forks on old treks are soooo flexy, comming down a steep incline i think i might snap in half!
