Greeting from Logan International, where they just cancelled our flight an hour before boarding with an empty plane at my gate!
The people on the flight that’s at my gate got off, and then JetBlue cancelled it.

I am back among the living--much more quickly than I expected to be.
We don't do Christmas, or any of the old holidays(or the new ones, except by the inconvenience of things being closed. One of us has issues with organized culture/society, in general)Our purpose in expatriating was to leave that entire culture behind. It's been liberating. For those of you who celebrate, I wish you everything you hope for from it,

Might not be broken, just unscrewed too much. Spring is slightly mangled but might still be OK. Only other bad possibility is the threads might be stripped.

Agree. That looks like the barrel adjuster is backed ALL THE WAY out. What I'd do is undo the cable at the pinch bolt, put the barrel adjuster back together with it close to but not completely tightened down, and then re-do the pinch bolt. I usually squeeze the pads onto the rim with my left hand, with vise grip pliers on the cable under the pinch bolt pulling the cable down, then tighten the bolt with my right hand. Once tight, give a couple good squeezes of the lever and adjust the cable tension.

Cool, followed your advice and it’s now in working order. Spring is still ****ed but it works.
