Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I'm to the point with my bikes where I'm running out of things to spend money on, unless it's stuff that might cost more than the bike did. I'm also really happy with my current bikes. However, now I'm to the point where I don't really need/want more bike clothes, either....probably.

The 50s --> 40s you're moving from "chilly" to "cold", but it's not "freezing."

Happy to clarify the proper definitions.

A house down the street from the office still has Christmas up. No, LAJ , but kind of amusing.

There's a longer discussion about California, population growth, and the difficulty that brings. And how many other places with huge population growth are facing the same issues. It is, of course, easier to laugh about California.

Now Texas, Texas has real issues.

It was a big season for Bam and the Bam fam...
- Bam got some sweet new crabon handlebars...which his very-pregnant wife wrapped for him.
- The next day (maybe 2 days later) Bam's wife got him a new Emonda. I think this was the day before delivering Baby Bam.

Whatever Bam is doing, he's doing it right.

My "favorite" discussion of California basically boils down to the old joke about a popular nightclub: "Nobody goes there anymore. It's too crowded."

He is, for sure. If I impregnated my wife I’d be in a heap of trouble.

Which also has led to unbearable traffic. Even the riding (when I was riding) has become much harder and less pleasant outdoors, even on the routes we used to use, let alone the ones AG used when she was here first.

Some of that is Austin-specific, of course, but that's where we care about.

And then there are things that won't be discussed here.
